VOTER RIGHTS
Closing all DEI Programs, Starting a genocide in Africa, Incarcerating Browns, Attacking voter rights, all wrapped in a big red bow around the neck of Donald Trump for fueling racism in the U.S.
A reader’s response to Steven Beschloss’s Substack on May 8, 2026, reads “It appears Jim Crow has risen from the grave, dusted off its dirt --that should’ve remained attached -- and with chutzpah, is attempting to rise and conquer fairness. Sadly, I believe that for some vindictive and unredeemable Southerners, people of color will continue to be in the crosshairs of many of their cruel crowd. Diversity, equity and inclusion, while a beacon of light and hope for all decent Americans, has become too hard to swallow for Southerners. Sadly, their throats are already crammed with racism, jealousy, and other undigested dogmas.” (written by Elaine Soloway) Voter redistricting in the South to lessen voter rights for Blacks – with Trump’s encouragement – is disgusting.
Martin Luther King Jr taught nonviolence; a philosophy that paralleled Gandhi’s and he was outspoken about the ineffectuality of violence. His ability to speak eloquently and to lead others in nonviolent but significant societal movements was unsurpassed.

The las five to six decades have not brought the U.S. populace or government leaders closer to fulfilling the truth enshrined in the Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal. Despite our younger generation displaying far less race consciousness, some of our police and our Southerners have continued the venomous chant of bigotry. It cannot be ignored. Blacks have been killed by various local police, or if not killed, they have been unjustly and disproportionately beaten or imprisoned.
This lie of American equality has set a countrywide standard of deceitfulness for generations of Americans.

Racism asserts the supremacy of one race over another, but common sense should tell you that this is simply not true. I was lucky enough to travel the world and work in far reaching countries. I witnessed that prejudices are not only in the U.S., however our “brand” is unique. I spent about twenty years in the USSR, Russia, Central Asia and Ukraine.
Just like colleges and universities in the U.S. have courses that used to be called “Soviet Studies”, Russia has courses – still today - focused on the United States and especially concerning our violent racial history. While I never attended these courses, I did meet a professor who wrote about U.S. history. He shared with me some of his course material. To view my own country through the eyes and the mind of a rival nation allowed me to sort through the propaganda and combine this information with my own experiences. It forced me to examine my own soul and my own birthplace.
In the U.S., a century has passed since the Tulsa, Oklahoma massacre and it has been about sixty years since the Bloody Sunday March in Selma, Alabama. Bloodshed in the U.S. due to racial hatred is ongoing, and in 2026 shows no sign of vanishing.
Former President Barak Obama is ranked among the top ten presidents of all time. Current President Trump is at the bottom of this list for a long list of reasons, but his discrimination is responsible for the current genocide in Africa – where an estimated 14 to 15 million people – all Black – are expected to die SOLELY due to his actions. He has incarcerated, Brown-skinned people across our nation, calling them all criminals, and at least 45 of them have died in his detention centers.
The current leader of our country is not just a bigot, but he has deliberately eliminated all the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs in government, schools, and in our society – outwardly promoting discrimination. DEI was created to promote fair treatment for all people – but he has marginalized Black and Brown-skinned individuals. The South is truly “rising” again to act out Mr. Trump’s hateful and abhorrent perspectives while their voting redistricting would simply wipe-out the Black vote in many locations.
Mr. Trump is almost 80 yrs old, and his discrimination began as a young man working in his father’s real estate business in New York, where qualified Black men and women were not allowed to rent apartments. Trump’s own insecurities are expressed daily and have increased with aging.

There is a long list of highly educated and very intelligent writers across the vast nation of Russia who are updating their textbooks on the United States. These books paint a repulsive, nauseating, and rancid picture of our country, our citizens, and the morally offensive and criminal behavior of our elected president. In June 2024, President Putin signed a Proclamation identifying the United States as an “enemy state” to Russia.
